About Collin
Collin Curtis’ career spans multiple industries, including film, real estate, and entrepreneurial ventures, showcasing his creativity and business acumen. Curtis, an undergraduate of USC, also holds a master’s in film production from the Loyola Marymount University School of Cinema. He made his early mark in the late 1990’s with his short film WAVEMAKER (1995) which spawned a feature film option. The coming-of-age romance about a young swimmer exploring love, identity and diversity, earned acclaim at over 12 festivals worldwide and positioned Collin as a rising talent in the industry.
After early success, Curtis founded Wavemaker Films, where he took on the roles of co-producer, director, and co-writer of five notable films, including WHERE THE RED BUDS GROW (1999), CATFISH AIRPORT (1998), ZULCH (1997), and THE DAWNING (1995), building a portfolio of emotionally resonant and soulfully impactful projects and laying the foundation for his lifelong storytelling passion.
In 2000, Curtis continued to develop film projects while opening boutique luxury residential and commercial real estate companies throughout the Western U.S., where he quickly gained a reputation for his entrepreneurial vision. Specializing in restoring the integrity of historic properties while developing mixed-use urban spaces, Curtis leveraged his market insight and leadership skills to generate significant revenue and profitability. His ventures centered on three states and included a focus on lifestyle properties, such as ocean, mountain, and ranch estates. Curtis’ ability to recruit, train and lead teams, coupled with his expertise in operations, contract law and negotiations, became hallmarks of his success.
In 2015, Curtis rekindled his passion for filmmaking by partnering with his father, Dr. Steve Curtis, a retired orthopedic surgeon, screenwriter, and fiction novelist. The feature screenplays and accompanying multi-genre novels emphasize narratives centered on the redemptive power of love. Over the past decade, Curtis has honed these projects while navigating the post-pandemic entertainment landscape to explore opportunities and collaborate on streaming film and TV series.
In his current venture, Caravanserai Pictures, Curtis is dedicated to creating compelling films and series that cultivate love, faith, and joy—stories designed to inspire and uplift humanity on the soul’s journey. Through this creative platform, he continues to blend his storytelling expertise with his commitment to delivering meaningful, transformative narratives and content.
Curtis’ dedication to creativity, innovation, and team building defines his multifaceted career. Whether crafting compelling stories or spearheading transformative business ventures, he continues to bring vision and leadership to every project he undertakes.
Curtis has served on multiple boards including the Turtle Creek Chorale in Dallas, Youth First Texas, and the Whidbey Island County Historical Society.
